Holland Park Residence
Date: 2004
Location: Holland Park, UK
Project Team: Alain Bouvire Architects + Julia Watson + Randle Siddeley Associates
Client: Valentino Garavini
Julia was the landscape designer for the haute couture clothing designer’s Holland Park residence.
The previous owner had designed a very modern, contemporary, and structured garden. The Client wanted the opposite and wished to create a romantic, classical garden with a sense of calm and serenity. To that end, the only part of the garden retained was the rear-espaliered trees. Box hedges, lavender, and agapanthus formed a fragrant backdrop to the two-tier rooms formed by a stepped limestone level change in the center.
